Adult Stem Cells are the body's natural healing and renewal system. They are created by the bone marrow. When a tissue or organ is damaged, diseased or otherwise stressed, it sends out a chemical 911 which travels through the bloodstream to the bone marrow. The bone marrow releases Adult Stem Cells which travel back through the bloodstream to the tissue or organ in need where they morph into healthy cells of the damaged tissue or organ.
These new healthy cells multiply as they repair and renew the damaged or diseased area. There appear to be few limitations on the ability of Adult Stem Cells to morph into healthy brain, liver, heart, kidney, skin…cells. The implications are profound and now Adult Stem Cell research is one of the most active areas of study in medical science today.
